What is the Work Readiness Programme?

ACC’s Work Readiness Programme (WRP) makes it easier for you to return to work.

If you’ve been out of the workforce because of injury, the WRP will help build your skills and abilities as a step towards finding suitable work.

Who provides the WRP?

The WRP is provided by rehabilitation professionals especially selected to work on behalf of ACC.

 What does the programme involve?

The WRP provides rehabilitation based on your individual needs.

First there’s an interview with a WRP provider to discuss and agree on your needs. After the interview, they will develop a programme plan and forward it to us. Once we’ve approved it, the provider will start the programme with you.

Your programme will depend on your individual needs. Some of the help available is:

  • vocational, eg job search, interview skills, work trial or computer training
  • physical activity, eg strength and fitness training
  • psychological, eg to address low-level pain

The programme can be completed over a number of weeks.
